This is my first time in India and I am delighted to present my film From Tuesday To Tuesday to the audience in Mumbai. I am excited about how my film will be received by viewers here. When I was a student, everybody always talked about Mumbai and India. For us, being here is like playing in the major league.
The MFF is very important for me because mine is a very low-budget film. It is very important to show the film at international festivals like the Mumbai Film Festival, and gain recognition because it is very difficult to release an independent film in Argentina. We do not have any channel or big enterprise backing us. After we gain recognition by showing at such film festivals, only then can we release it in Argentina. It’s easier that way.
When I was a student of cinema, we studied about how India has ‘factories’ to make thousands and thousands of films. It is amazing. I feel a little lost because it is enormous for us. This is my first movie and this is my second film festival. We were at another film festival in France before this, where they showed only Latin American films. MFF is huge, and so many films from across the world are being shown.
Screening my movie here is very important also because Mumbai is a big cinema destination. I know there are some big producers and filmmakers here, and hopefully I will meet some buyers too at this festival.
