Biopic Clash Once Again

ranbir

If one recalls, there was a time when many historical biopics based on the same man, Bhagat Singh, had released on the same day. And while clashes have been a common game since then, this particular type of clash has not repeated itself. Until now. This year, we will see one real-life story compete with another real-life story in theatres. We are talking about the upcoming films Soorma and the yet-untitled Sanjay Dutt biopic. Although the movies are not based on the same person, the fact that they are both biopics adds an extra level of competition when they release on June 29.

, directed by Shaad Ali, is based on the life of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh, with Diljit Singh playing the lead role. The other contender is the much talked-about Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt, where Ranbir Kapoor will play his character.

We will have to wait and see if one of the films folds and shifts its release date, or will we see another epic clash this year.
