After many delays, we hear that the producers of South superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sci-fi film 2.0 want the film to release on Independence Day. There is a chance that the film might release on this coveted holiday but the date hasn’t yet been announced as a significant amount of VFX work is yet to be done. However, the heavy special effects could push the film’s release by a month or so. If that happens, the makers are looking at a Dusshera release.
Interestingly, 2.0 will see a clash, regardless of which of these two dates it chooses. If the film comes out on Independence Day, it will clash with Akshay Kumar’s GOLD and John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate. And if it is indeed postponed to the Dusshera weekend, it will clash with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra’s Namaste England. Wonder which producer will shift their date to accommodate Rajinikanth? Or will they hold their ground?
