Seeing is believing… or maybe not! The promotions of this upcoming film have evoked a generally positive response, but those in the know tell us that the message being conveyed is actually misleading since the actual film is not what the promos would have us believe.
And while one understands that the role of advertising is to put a positive spin on a product, even at the cost of being flexible with the truth, the perplexing thing is that the actual plot of the film is even more interesting than the promo conveys! So why not go with promos that tease the actual film? Your guess is as good as ours.
Another puzzling aspect about the same film – it is a remake of a blockbuster Hollywood hit and one is sure that the studio would have secured the remake rights. Yet there has been no mention of this at all, even though that association would only work in the film’s favour. And the same studio in the past had been very happy to talk about how their film was a remake of another Hollywood film that actually disappointed in its home market!
If you are scratching you head trying to figure this out, we don’t blame you… so are we!
