befikre-movie-stillThe album begins with the song Labon ka karobaar, a song picturised on 17 kissing couples. The song has jazz tunes that transport you to Hollywood of the ‘60s and ‘70s. It is a slow track sung by popular folk singer Papon. The tunes will uplift your mood and serenade your better half!learly aming the most-awaited film releases of 2016, Befikre has an amazing cast and an equally amazing song line-up. The album consists of five songs, all foot-stomping and peppy dance numbers. It boasts a bunch of eclectic singers, from the rustic Papon to the Western Benny Dayal and the melodious Arijit Singh. The sound of the film has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and the lyrics penned by Jaideep Sahni. The tracks are guaranteed to get you on your feet and hit the dance floor.

Ude dil befikre talks about the joys of falling in love with no expectations. It comes with French and Middle-Eastern rhythms and features Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor throwing hilarious dares at each other. Sung by Benny Dayal, this number will make you want to step out to party and hit the nearest dance floor with its spunky lyrics and beats.

Nowadays no album is complete without a song by Arijit Singh and this album is no exception. The song Nashe si chad gayi is also featured on Singh and Kapoor. Starting on a fast and feisty note with French lyrics, it has a slow Punjabi track towards the end, which marks the couple falling in love with each other.

You and me is yet another peppy number in the album. Singh and Kapoor vow to never fall in love and take their buddy bonding to the next level. From gate-crashing a bird-themed wedding to ballroom-dancing, this song is a treat for the eyes and the ears. Nikhil D’Souza and Rachel Varghese ensure that you play this song on a loop, for days.

The track Je T’aime literally means ‘I Love You’ but you will understand what it means only in the context of the song as the couple has vowed to never fall in love. The track is a slow, romantic number sung by Vishal Dadlani and Sunidhi Chauhan and is the antithesis to the film’s main concept of never falling in love. We can see the couple taking a leap of faith and trying hard to not fall in love, but their sizzling chemistry says it all.

No YRF film is complete without a wedding song and this one has Khulke-dhulke, the only Punjabi song in the album. Sung by Gippy Grewal and Harshdeep Kaur, this song features a typical, big, fat, Indian wedding. It’s a completely over-the-top Punjabi song and is high on energy. Like the others, this one too ends with a kiss.

Verdict: ***1/2
