Jatt Do It!

IMG_2154Tiger Shroff is not only a youth sensation but is also hugely loved by kids. After making his debut with Heropanti followed by Baaghi, he is now ready with his third film A Flying Jatt in which he plays a superhero and as we all know, kids love superheroes. It’s almost a given that A Flying Jatt will increase Shroff’s fan following by leaps and bounds. Today the producers of the film launched the film’s trailer at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai and unsurprisingly, the auditorium was packed with young kids whistling and cheering for junior Shroff. The trailer was launched in the midst of the media and fans and received a heartening response. Also once the conference was over, the lead cast along with the kids enjoyed a ‘Flying Ride’ together.  Also present at the event were the rest of the team comprising Nathan Jones, Jacqueline Fernandez, director Remo D’Souza and producer Ekta Kapoor. Here’s what happened at the do:

Remo D’Souza On Casting Tiger Shroff

The script of A Flying Jatt was with me even before I become director so it’s kind of my first script. I always wanted to make it with an actor who would have the innocence as well as could fight well. I was looking for someone innocent, adorable and at the same time looked like a common man, just like one of us. The superhero will have powers but he doesn’t know how to use them, just like the common man.  So for years I couldn’t see anyone playing the role until one day I saw Tiger Shroff.

I chose a Sikh superhero because I wanted to show the power of the Khanda and the turban. We all are aware how courageous Sikhs are, so I chose a Sikh superhero.

D’Souza On Flying Powers

We all watch Hollywood films and especially films like Spiderman, Superman, Batman and how they fly. So what happens when a common man like us can fly? How does he manage to fly? So that’s the thought with which we made this film.

Nathan Jones On Bollywood

The experience has been great, everyone has been wonderful to me. They have been taking so much care of me! Remo is a wonderful director, he did a fantastic job and Tiger is a great actor who can dance, do action and is such a down to earth personality.

Tiger Shroff On The Film

It has been a long journey. In fact I would say Remo sir was the first director who had believed in me even before Heropanti released as that’s when he approached me. The preparation was very difficult as we wanted to show a different kind of action in the film, there is a lot of martial arts based action. Also my character he is very different from what you have seen of me, he is not a typical hero or not exactly a typical superhero. Remo sir stood by me till I got into the skin of the character.

D’Souza On Nathan Jones

In my head my superhero was an innocent guy even after he gets his power and I wanted a villain who is huge and whom you look at and think that how can someone can defeat him. I had seen Mad Max and Nathan came to my mind. You can see the difference between both of them and that’s how he signed the film.

D’Souza On Memorable Moments

It was fun working with all of them. I remember we were shooting the fight sequences when one of the action guys came and told me, ‘Sir, I have five kids at home. Please don’t make me do this action scene with him (Nathan)’, so they were actually scared of fighting with him.

Shroff On Superheroes

I believe every child’s superhero is his own father and same was the case with me. Apart from that I love Spiderman. I love superheroes who are underdogs, that’s why I sort of related to my character in A Flying Jatt. My character is someone who is unsure of how to use the superpowers, he is also scared of heights, and he is scared of Nathan, and also his own mother.

Jacqueline Fernandez On The FilmIMG_2344

I am lucky to bag the role opposite Tiger and working with Remo was amazing. Everyone will love this film.  It was amazing shooting with Nathan, he is so tall and huge that sometimes I used to look up at him (in awe). I also have a lot of dance numbers in the film and especially dancing with Tiger was brilliant.

Ekta Kapoor On Tiger Shroff

I have worked with so many heroes and I have made so many films but never has it happened that so many kids approached me asking to make them meet the hero like they did for Tiger Shroff. He is quite popular with kids and they will love the film.

D’Souza On Indian Superheroes

We all know when it comes to films our first superhero is Krrish which is Hrithik Roshan and we all love the film and also Hrithik Roshan, Tiger too is a huge fan of his. It’s only in India where the approach is ‘Maine banayi hai superhero film, sochna bhi mat banane ka’. Hollywood has so many superheroes why can’t we have as many? I wish someday we also make an Avengers with all our superheroes.
