Shahid’s Meter Chalu

After the huge success of Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor can’t wait to pour all his positive energy into his next project. The actor will soon start shooting for his upcoming movie Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which will be directed by Shree Narayan Singh. When we spoke to the actor about his collaboration with the director, he said, “I am going to start shooting next month. I have had a couple of sessions with Shree (Narayan Singh) and I can say with a lot of confidence that if there is anybody who understands the world that he makes his films in, it is Shree. This is very important when you are making a film about a small town.”

On his role in the film, Kapoor shared, “I am very excited about working with him. I am playing a lawyer for the first time and I am playing a regular, small town guy, which is very interesting. I have not done that for a while. And after playing a king to play something like that, will be interesting.”

Kapoor also said his next movie after Batti Gul Meter Chalu will be with Imtiaz Ali. “We are collaborating after 10 years and that’s wonderful. I have been waiting to work with him again. Whether he has given hits or flops, I can see that he is an exceptionally talented filmmaker. As an actor, it is a very fortunate thing when a filmmaker of his talent comes to you. That film is a little premature, we will talk about it a little later.”
