Sridevi’s Loss, Ramya’s Gain

Point 3 aEver since Baahubali: The Beginning released and its sequel, everyone has been talking about leading man Prabhas, leading lady Anushka Shetty, villain Rana Daggubati, character actor Sathyaraj and director SS Rajamouli. Apart from these four names, there’s one more actor everyone is talking about –  Ramya Krishnan.

Surprisingly, Krishnan was not the original choice for this film. Rajamouli wanted Sridevi to play this character but she turned it down. Ramya was roped in after sridevi refused the part.

Today, after the release of both instalments of Baahubali, we’re sure Ramya Krishnan is thanking Sridevi, apart from her own lucky stars.

I am sure Ramya Krishnan is 100% apt for the role..nobody could have done justice to that role other than her..superb she is..

I would hardly call it Sridevi’s loss. She has a dozen classics in her iconic career. Besides an actress of Sridevi’s stature always plays central roles, not supporting side roles. Thanks to Sridevi, Ramya now has at least one decent film in her career.

So you will call someone a loser because they decided not to be part of the movie that became a hit later?
You think you get to judge if it’s someone’s loss or not?
How do you know if Sridevi regrets or not? What if the hit movie still doesn’t convince it was the right role or deserving renumeration for her?
She has completed 300 films so far and has gone beyond the number game. She’s not in a position to feel insecure about ‘missing’ this opportunity. if it’s any, it simply reinforces that she knows what’s she’s capable of and what she deserves.
Ramya is great, but you don’t get to insult for artist to praise the other.

Sivagami’s role doesn’t befit the stature of legendary Sridevi. Why should she play side role like Sivagami when she is playing heto in English vinglish, Mom. Thanks god Rajanauli didn’t afford her fees.
Anyway it is loss to Rajanauli and not Sridevi.
