Darkhaast was offered to me after composer Mithoon Sharma had a discussion with Ajay Devgn. Speaking about penning the lyrics, Quadri says, “He (Ajay Devgn) wanted this romantic track to be subtle. He gave me a brief saying that the moment we are living in is the moment we should enjoy. He further added, “We should remember the beautiful relation we shared with a person in the past, which may have broken due to a certain situation. We should not regret or keep any hard feelings.  We should remember those moments, feel it and re-live it with happiness. I kept in mind this brief while writing the lyrics. I could feel the song very well and I decided the title Darkhaast.”  Without revealing much, Quadri says that he has one more track in Shivaay which is also romantic.

The wordsmith mentions his style of writing as one which comprises the Hindustani language. “It’s the language we use in our daily life. I keep my lyrics simple and use both Hindi and Urdu in my lyrics. This is called the Hindustani Language and that’s the language of my song every time. Whatever I see and the way I perceive the world I convey through my lyrics.” Quadri further adds, “I write my lyrics for any song with complete dedication. I keep working on the lyrics till I am not satisfied completely. At times I work for days and weeks for a particular song. I present my lyrics to the music composer or the director only when I am satisfied myself with it lyrics.”

The lyricist points out that his song Darkhaast is very popular among the youth. “I have been getting good feedback for this song. People have loved this song especially the youth. They connect with my songs because they feel I have penned down their feeling. I always keep them in mind while writing the lyrics kyunki mera dil abhi bhi jawan hai, ” says Quadri.
