The Zoya Factor To Be Made

08

It created a stir when it was being written and even when it released. The novel was very well received by one and all and it went on to become one of the highest sold books. We’re talking about The Zoya Factor, a novel written by Anuja Chauhan and published by HarperCollins India in 2008. The novel was also optioned for a film by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment production company, for a period of three years but the company couldn’t make it into a feature film.

Later, the rights were taken by Manmohan Shetty’s daughter Pooja but she also couldn’t make a film out of it. But now, it seems, a film will be made based on this book – finally! Well, we’re keeping it under wraps right now but will let you that Sonam Kapoor will be playing the leading lady in the film. For further details about the movie, watch this space!

We’ll tell you more in our next issue. (PS: The Zoya Factor is about a Rajput girl named Zoya Singh Solanki, who meets the Indian cricket team through her job as an executive in an advertising agency and ends up becoming a lucky charm for the team for the 2010 Cricket World Cup.)
