What’s It All About?
The Santa Cruz Film Festival (SCFF), in its 11th year, will be showcasing a unique blend of local culture and global concerns. The festival promotes film arts for the local community and attracts a global spectrum of film projects. It is best known worldwide for the production of an annual film festival and year-round events and educational activities.
The festival brings the year’s most relevant films and solicits new and contemporary films, and also showcases films that are locally made while also hosting industry talks and forums.
Watch Out For!
Directed by Sascha Rice, the film is set in the turbulent 1960s, where an ordinary man rose to face extraordinary challenges. The film gives an inside look into the life and political power of the patriarch of a family dynasty called by some the ‘West Coast Kennedys’.
Closing Night: Pretty Old
When 30 women aged 67 to 84 from across America and around the world descend on Fall River, Massachusetts, to compete in the 30th anniversary of the Ms Senior Sweetheart Pageant, hilarity and heartbreak ensue. These women share intimate experiences, discover new-found passions and stir lifelong insecurities that challenge common misconceptions of aging.

Based on true events, Below Zero is a thriller. It is the story of ‘Jack the Hack’, a less-than-average, but once successful screenwriter who now faces a writer’s block. Is he on the verge of creating the best script he’s ever written or is he losing his mind?
