INDIAN CONNECT
Circle
Directed by Jayisha Patel, this short is a haunting portrait of a rape victim, caught in the devious ploys of her family. Through the poignant and personal story of 13 year-old Khushboo, Circle weaves together the horror of her gang-rape, emotional abuse at the hands of her grandmother, who orchestrated her rape, and that of her child marriage to a man she does not know.
Opening Film
Isle Of Dogs
Directed by Wes Anderson, the film is set in a dystopian future Japan in which all dogs have been exiled to a quarantine island after a mysterious “canine flu”. Isle of Dogs follows the lead character, a 12-year-old called Atari as he searches for his dog, Spots.
