'83: Ranveer can turn into any character, says Kabir Khan

Ranveer Singh starrer '83 is creating a buzz, fans can't wait for the film to hit the screens. The film directed by Kabir Khan is based on the historic victory 1983 world cup of the Indian cricket team.

In an interview with a leading daily, Kabir Khan spoke about the film. He said, “I may sound a tad pompous, but if things weren’t recorded back then, they are now. We interviewed hundreds of eye-witnesses who told us how exactly things unfolded. A lot of effort has gone into staying true to the details of the shots played.”

Talking about Ranveer he said, “Ranveer is one of those gifted people who can turn into any character. If you see his last few roles, it’s difficult to believe that they are all played by one person. He has spent a lot of time with Kapil Dev (Indian skipper in 1983 whom the actor portrays in the film) in Delhi and has beautifully picked up his persona. More than the make-up, his expressions have done the work.”

The ensemble cast of the film, includes Boman Irani, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Chirag Patil, Jiiva and Harrdy Sandhu in pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone has a special appearance.

‘83 is produced by Reliance Entertainment, Vibri Media, Kabir Khan Films and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The movie is slated to hit the screens on April 10, 2020.
