Aamir Khan is back on board the Gulshan Kumar biopic Mogul not just as a producer but as the lead actor as well. In an interview with a leading daily, the actor confirmed the development.
Talking about the casting for the film, Aamir Khan said that Bhushan Kumar had always wanted him to play the lead role. But Aamir never saw himself fit into that role.
Since Aamir was not keen to act in the film, he suggested Akshay Kumar’s name but things did not work out with him. Later Varun Dhawan and Kapil Sharma were also considered for the part.
Sharing how he finally agreed to act in the film, as Bhushan Kumar was keen that he play his late father’s role, Aamir Khan said that he had loved the script, and he feels it’s a great role, so he said yes.
Aamir Khan is currently busy with Laal Singh Chaddha, an official remake of Hollywood film, Forrest Gump. He will be starting Mogul only after that.
