Riteish Deshmukh ran into major controversy recently when he posted a rather normal picture of himself in front of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Apparently, he had performed a photo shoot in front of the statue situated at the Raigad fort. He received major flak and several members of the community felt hurt. And hence, the actor had to apologise to everyone across India.
Not only did he apologise for conducting a photoshoot, but also for hurting people’s sentiments! Riteish Deshmukh had tweeted the picture and written, "It's an unimaginable high to feel the presence of one of the greatest warriors born in India Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Nothing is more invigorating than bowing down and seeking his blessings." To apologise for the same, he posted a picture on Twitter with a written apology in Marathi. The crux basically saying that he had no intention to hurt anyone by sitting there or clicking those photos, it was just an act of devotion, but if someone is hurt by by their act, they apologice.
