After the massive success of his movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Ajay will next be seen in SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR. The actor will have cameo alongside Alia Bhatt. The film is led by south superstars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR who play freedom fighters inspired by real-life heroes Komarum Bheem and Alluri Sitaram Raju.
According to a leading daily, “Ajay has shot for around 10 days at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where Delhi from the 1900s was recreated. He appears in the flashback scenes,” revealed a source close to the development, adding that several Bollywood actors were in the running for the role, but Ajay was the unanimous choice.
"Rajamouli paid a tribute to him in Makkhi and the two have been good friends since. Ajay gave the nod within minutes of the narration. Though it is an extended cameo, his track will remind one of his National Award-winning performance in The Legend of Bhagat Singh and sets the tone for the drama involving the two leads," the source said.
Talking about Alia Bhatt's role, the source said, she is yet to film her part. She plays Sita and her part is pivotal for the story. The actress has been prepping for the role and is even learning Telugu with a local instructor in order to learn the nuances of her character.
Directed by S.S Rajamouli, RRR is produced by D.V.V Danayya on DVV Entertainment banner and is all set to hit the screens later this year in 10 languages.
