Alia Bhatt reveals approaching RRR director SS Rajamouli for work even before Baahubali released

The buzz and excitement surrounding SS Rajamouli’s RRR is sky-high. The film will bring together two powerhouse actors, Ram Charan and Jr NTR for the first time. The magnum opus also marks the debut of Alia Bhatt in the Telugu film industry. The film is a fictional account of two real-life freedom fighters.

In an interview with a leading daily, Alia Bhatt expressed her enthusiasm about working with Baahubali director Rajamouli and made an interesting revelation that it was she who approached him. She said, "I look up to his work and been a fan even before Baahubali. In fact, not many would know that when I met him at the airport I was like, ‘Sir I want to work with you’.”

She added, “After Baahubali, the moment I heard that he is working on his next film, I knew I had to work with him. He was surprised and told me that he was also thinking of working with me and I would have got a call from him anyway."

Talking about her preparation for the role of Sita, she said, "I am learning all my lines in Telugu and trying to understand them well. I want every scene to be authentic."

RRR also marks the Telugu debut for Ajay Devgn. The film also stars Samuthikarani. The multilingual film is slated for a release on July 30, 2020.

On the work front, Alia will be seen in Brahmastra, Sadak 2 and Takht
