Anurag Kashyap and Sobhita Dhulipala speaks about Ghost Stories

Team Box Office India caught up with Anurag Kashyap and Sobhita Dhulipala who will speak about making such horror film like Ghost stories and how they really enjoyed the genre of the film and the process of shooting the film. As we all have come across the trailer of the film which is creepy and interesting though. Anurag Kashyap was asked about how this idea of Ghost stories came up in his mind. Addressing to Karan Johar he mentioned that “Karan was the one to come up with an idea of Ghost stories and we all were very excited to explore ourselves through these stories.”

How difficult is to convince the Indian audience in terms of horror when they have a list of favourite Hollywood films as well? On reply to that, he said “Indian horror movies had much more money also, Vikram Bhatt’s horror is extremely popular among the audience and they had loved it.

Anurag Kashyap personally loves psychological horror and Ghost stories also carry a huge part of humanity with it which was the most important thing to him. He said,” I have a child, and I am being into the new stage of being a new parent, and not knowing how to do and what to do, so I can understand the entire anxiety and trauma of the script which was brought to me.”

It was quite comfort and liberating experience for Sobhita while doing Ghost stories as we need to throw outside our fear completely out of us.

Sobhita has been chasing and figuring out between several scripts before this. Made in Heaven was one such thing which brought her out completely. For an actor, she seems to be very neutral to everything and she wishes to do as many stories as possible.

They were further asked about what all thoughts turned up in your mind while shooting for such kind of films which are so heavy on psychology and where one can mentally get disturbed.

Shobhita taking the positive side about it mentioned that she was probably taken way closer to people who had been experiencing the same thing in our film. She added, “At the end, we came to know that we all going through their own shares of high’s and low’s and we all are so alone in our issues and this made us come together to bring out all that which was always in threw back of our mind.”

Anurag Kashyap mentioned that all the four stories are very distinct from each other. One is political, one is funny and creepy and it’s like a bouquet with a bunch of interesting things with it.”

And on the conclusion part, he also mentioned about his most favourite psychological thriller.
