Words cannot express what I have to say about Yashji . He was not only an integral part of the industry but very dear to people. The kind of films he made reflected his personality. Beyond being a filmmaker, he was a very grounded person.
The enthusiasm he had for his film Jab Tak Hai Jaan was brilliant. He was young at heart and was more energetic than anyone our age. It was always a pleasure talking to him, whether about food or movies. He once mentioned the film Crazy Stupid Love, which shows he was in sync not only with our films but Hollywood as well.
It was a surreal moment for me to have Yashji and Pam aunty in the same auditorium during the first screening of my film, Ishaqzaade, at Yash Raj Studios. I felt proud to know that Yashji had the faith in me to count me as part of the Yash Raj family. I am privileged to have made my debut under his banner. The grooming I received at Yash Raj will always be an asset.
