Arvind Swani was the ultimate loverboy when he did Roja. He went on to do a couple of films, before taking a break from cinema. And when he returned he reinvented himself as actor, dabbling in all types of roles, especially that of the villain.
On his birthday yesterday, his next film was announced in which he plays the lead role. Titled Pulanaivu, the film is directed by Santhosh P Jayakumar. Santhosh shifts gears with this film, movigng from the sex comedy genre to a mystery crime thriller.
In an interview with a daily, Santhosh P Jayakumar revealed, “Arvind Swami will be essaying the role of a CB-CID officer. His appearance and characterisation will be quite different from how he has been portrayed in other films.”
Also, the film will have no leading lady and the film will have director turned actor Ameer and John Vijay in pivotal roles.
Music will be by D Imman who is working with Santhosh for the first time. Talking about the association, he said, “I was, in fact, approached for Santhosh’s previous movies, but I was not so keen because of the content. This one is very different from what he has done so far. The songs will be upbeat and have an urban touch. They will not be standalone songs, but will be part of the narrative.”
Reportedly, the film, which will entirely be shot in and around Chennai, will go on floors from June 20.
