Ayushmann Khurrana is busy promoting the film Article 15 in which he plays a cop. The film, directed by Anubhav Sinha, is based on the caste discrimination that is rampant across the country, especially in small towns.
In an interview to a daily, he was asked if he is worried that Article 15, which is based on a serious issue, might be perceived as a documentary, to which the actor answered, "Every film of mine deals with a subject that can be made into a documentary — be it body shaming or anything else."
Khurrana added that Article 15 is entertaining and it is also commercial as it has light moments, but the theme is dark. He said that the point of a film addressing a social issue is only relevant when there is reach and reach will only come with entertainment. Otherwise, nobody will watch that film.
Article 15 hits theatres on June 28. It is directed by Anubhav Sinha. Produced by Benaras Media Works and Zee Studios, the film also stars Isha Talwar, Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub.
