Ayushmann Khurrana is one actor who has always pushed the envelope when it comes to his craft. Right from his first film, Vicky Donor, several characters that he has played in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and others have been memorable.
And speaking about memorable, we have to mention the two superhits he gave in 2018, AndhaDhun and Badhaai Ho. The actor also won the National Award for Best Actor for his role in AndhaDhun.
Talking about the responsibility this new achievement comes with, in an interview with an entertainment website, he said, “It’s a happy responsibility that I have to shoulder now. I never take on the pressure of thinking about receiving awards, my first step is always choosing the right script.”
He further that the National Award is a validation for him, “I can confidently say that the National Award validates my film choices. We actors are like kids. When we get awards, we feel thrilled and appreciated.”
The Dream Girl star also opened up about how he prefers taking up films that make his peers uncomfortable. “I always like to choose different concepts. These are subjects that I feel comfortable promoting, as it brings something different to the table. I like to take on things that my contemporaries would be uncomfortable in doing. I always wanted to present myself with different stuff, and I am happy I am able to sustain and get such quirky subjects.”
He even talked about how his films have a family audience despite their unique and quirky storyline. He said, “When I say different, I mean like the humour from TV shows which is slightly below the belt, that’s what I mean. It can be watched sitting with the family. All the films that I have done are family films. My family and my children, when they grow up and watch my films, will feel proud of my choices.”
Ayushmann has several other films Bala, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Gulabo Sitabo among others.
