Ayushmann Khurrana's first film with Anubhav Sinha was not supposed to be Article 15? Read details

In an interaction with Box Office India sometime back, Anubhav Sinha told us that it was Ayushmann Khurrana who approached him and wanted to be part of Article 15. The filmmaker told a publication recently that his first collaboration with the Badhaai Ho actor was supposed to be another film and not Article 15. Spilling beans, Anubhav said, “I wanted him to play an intense part in a love story. The film I was planning with him was some sort of an anthology in a space that he has not done before.”

He plans to go back to the script someday. “I love the script and it requires five actors. So it’s a tough one to cast.”

Talking about working with Ayushmann in the film, the filmmaker said, “I needed a fantastic actor, more importantly, someone who believed in the subject and was willing to walk that extra mile with me. Ayushmann checked all the boxes.”

The film based on the theme of caste divisions and prejudices is grabbing a lot of attention. The hard-hitting trailer of the film is resonating with the audience and is creating quite an impact for its social relevance.

Article 15 also stars Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub. The Benaras Mediaworks venture is produced by Anubhav and Zee Studios. It is slated for a June 28, 2019 release.
