Bharat continues its remarkable run; affects business of other films

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat that released on Eid about two weeks ago continues its brilliant run at the box office. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has earned Rs 187.05 crore after its second weekend comprising 12 days. Its performance is affecting the business of the films that hit the screens last Friday – Game Over, Khamoshi and Men In Black: International.

Game Over, a thriller, starring Taapsee Pannu, had a disappointing run at the box office. With its limited release, it raked in Rs 1.85 crore after its first weekend. Khamoshi, another thriller, with Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles failed to create much noise at the ticket counters and garnered a disappointing Rs 0.36 crore at the end of its first weekend. The latest Men In Black franchise titled Men In Black: International that stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and others clocked Rs 9.16 crore at the end of its first weekend.

Yet another Hollywood release that is running in the theatres is X-Men: Dark PhoenixBharat that released on the same day as this superhero film hampered the latter’s performance. At the end of its first week, the Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Michael Fassbender starrer collected Rs 16.42 crore.
