Sushant Singh Rajput made his debut in the Hindi film industry in the year 2013 with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che!, based on Chetan Bhagat's novel The 3 Mistakes Of My Life. Since then he has been part of nine films so far, out of which his 2016 release MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, was the first film of his career to cross the Rs 100-crore mark.
His latest film Chhichhore, released on September 6, has been going strong at the box office after a slow start. It has been receiving positive word-of-mouth since the day of its release. After completing 13 days at the ticket counters, the film did a business of Rs 101.76 crore becoming Rajput's second film to surpass the Rs 100-crore mark after MS Dhoni.
Among the releases of 2019, Chhichhore becomes 10th film to surpass the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office. Apart from Chhichhore, in 2019, we have three films earning more than Rs 200 crore - Kabir Singh, URI: The Surgical Strike and Bharat; and we have six films that have done a business of more than Rs 100 crore - Mission Mangal, Total Dhamaal, Kesari, Super 30, Gully Boy and Saaho.
