Vijay Devarakonda’s Arjun Reddy was to be the launch vehicle for Chiyaan Vikram’s son Dhruv. The film was being helmed by none other than Bala, who had directed Vikram in memorable films like Sethu and Pithamagan. Titled Varmaa, the film was completed and the teaser trailer was also released. But the producers of the film E4 Entertainment were not happy with the final film. Instead of shelving the project, they decided to reshoot the entire film but with a completely new cast and crew. The only person retained from the film was Dhruv.
The new and improved film now titled as Adithya Varma, is helmed by debutant director Gireesaaya. The previous film had Megha Chowdhury and Raiza Wilson as the female leads. They have now been replaced by Banita Sandhu, who makes her Tamil debut with the film and Priya Anand.
The shoot of the film is currently underway in Portugal after which the final schedule will be in Dehradun. About 10 days of shoot is remaining for the film. Adithya Varma has also been shot in Chennai and Mumbai.
With the film in the final stages of its shoot, it is expected that it will hit the screens by June end or beginning of July.
