The original track sung by Badshah and penned by Indeep Bakshi was released last year and was one of the 2013 Punjabi hits. While the film made a mark in its niche circles, the soulful track impressed the listeners and was one of the most played songs on the radio station. Tu meri, the bass-driven track with subtle intensity is one of the best dance tracks of the year. Irshaad Kamil’s expressive lyrics – kisi ka toh hoga hi tu, kyun na tujhe main hi jeetun, Khule khabon me jeete hain, jeete hain baawre – succeeds in swooning the listeners. Vishal Shekhar have kept the basic orchestration throughout the track solely focusing on the vocals of leading artists Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.
