A few weeks back we told you that the Telugu producer Dil Raju has bought the rights of the 2019 Telugu hit Jersey starring superstar Nani and newbie Shraddha Shrinath. The remake of the film would mark Dil Raju’s foray into the Hindi film industry.
But since the last couple of days, there have been speculation about Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions acquiring the rights of Jersey for a remake though no confirmation has come from the production house.
Box Office India got in touch with Kuldeep Rathore, Director and CEO at Dil Raju Productions and asked him about this speculation. Rathore refuted the rumours and said, “No, nothing of the sort. We have acquired the rights of the Telugu film Jersey. The news about the rights being acquired by Dharma Productions is there and we have also seen it. We will be making an announcement about the project soon. We are not making the film in collaboration with Dharma. We are just sorting out some things and as soon as we do that, we will let you know.”
Who finally makes the Jersey remake in Hindi will only be seen with time. Stay tuned to Box Office India for more updates.
