We have seen lines between the regional cinema and mainstream Hindi cinema blurring over the last few years. People all over the country are now consuming all kinds of films and superstars from various regional industries are establishing their names in other film industries as well. While many actors are happy with this, actress Neeru Bajwa who is a popular face in Punjabi cinema has some complaints.
When we spoke to Neeru recently in an exclusive chat, she spoke about never being offered good roles in Bollywood. The actress has been part of films like Prince, Special 26 and Phoonk 2 from the Hindi film fraternity but those roles didn’t lead to others. In the chat with us, Neeru said, “I don’t think that there is any particular validation that you get when you do a Hindi film. It is in the end about a good film or a bad film. I honestly have not been offered a good film in Hindi so I don’t think it is necessary to be validated as a good actor only if you do a Hindi film. I think validation comes from your fans and the love that they give you and your films.”
Neeru is a superhit actress in the Punjabi film industry and is gearing up for the release of her film Shadda which comes out on June 21.
