EXCLUSIVE! "Thought I was going to hell for calling Shah Rukh Khan dhakkan," says Bard Of Blood actor Emraan Hashmi

Bard Of Blood starring Emraan Hashmi is creating noise for all the right reasons. The seven-episode series marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with Netflix as a producer. The trailer gives us a glimpse into the world of spies, hostage rescue agents and war-torn Baluchistan. The skit video dropped by Netflix India featuring Shah Rukh and Emraan grabbed a lot of attention. Not many know this but Emraan who shared screen space with the superstar in the four minute video is a big fan of SRK.

In a recent interaction with team Box Office India, Emraan opened up about growing up watching SRK’s films and feeling overwhelmed about being in the same frame as him. “The small skit of about four minutes that I did with him is memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” said an elated Emraan.

He revealed the reason as to what made him feel guilty while sharing the screen with SRK. “I had to put a bag on Shah Rukh Khan’s face. I was feeling so bad and guilty! I was sitting across a table and I was getting interrogated by him. One part of me was telling me that this is wrong as I was calling him a dhakkan and a dabba. I thought I was going to hell for this. But the other part of me was saying that I will be professional.”

But was it difficult to contain the fan boy in him? “I have grown up watching his films. He has had a huge impact on me as an actor and a person. I have seen him since I was in school. It was not like a slow burn with Bard Of Blood where I knew that I share a script with him and I knew that I would shoot with him after a definite period of time. After two days into the shoot, I was told that I have to shoot a sequence with Shah Rukh Khan. A part of my brain wanted to take his autograph,” he smiled.

Bard Of Blood also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Viineet Kumar, Kirti Kulhari and Jaideep Ahlawat. Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, it is all set to start streaming from September 27.
