Speculations are rife that choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan Kunder’s next project will be a remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer Satte Pe Satta that released in 1982.
Reportedly, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone will be leading the cast. Talking about it in a recent interview with IANS, she said, "My children haven't seen old films. I feel classics need not be touched like I would not think of remaking a Sholay because I know meri bajne hi waali hai usme! Such films stand the test of time."
On adding to this, she also said, "You have to be careful of what film to remake. You have to take a loved movie but not something that you know you would be compared and (then) torn to shreds. Remakes are now done all over the world. At one time I used to wonder why (remake a movie)? Now I think it would be fun modernising movies I love."
Farah, who last directed Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Happy New Year, will start working on her own film this year. "What I enjoy most is making my own film, which I am looking forward to this year. I enjoy it a lot but it is also a tiring process --- especially when you have three children. I am a hands-on mother, so I take long gaps between films. For me, that is the most creatively satisfying process,” she said.
Farah will collaborate with filmmaker Rohit Shetty for the ‘biggest action comedy flick’ under the banner of Rohit Shetty Picturez. Read about it here.
She recently finished choreographing Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif for a recreation version of Tip tip barsa paani for Sooryavanshi in Hyderabad. Farah will also be producing husband Shirish Kunder’s project, Mrs Serial Killer, a Netflix Original starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Mohit Raina and Manoj Bajpayee.
