The Central government has accepted the request by the Bihar government to order the CBI to probe actor Sushant Singh Rajput case. The announcement comes in just a day after the Bihar Chief Minister sent the Centre the request on receiving the consent of the actor’s father KK Singh.
The SC asked the parties involved to file their response in three days. It also ordered the Maharashtra government to apprise the court of the stage of investigation by Mumbai Police into Rajput’s death. The case will now be heard next week.
The news agency took to their official social media to give an update and wrote, "Solicitor General Tushar Mehta states before Supreme Court that Centre has accepted Bihar govt's request recommending CBI enquiry into #SushantSinghRajput death case. SC is hearing Rhea Chakraborty's petition seeking direction for transfer of investigation from Patna to Mumbai."
Sushant's sister Shweta also shared the news on her social media.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, recently has filed a police complaint against Chakraborty in Patna, blaming her of abetting his son’s alleged suicide in June and also illegally transferred Rs 15 crore from his son’s bank account and mentally harassed him.
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said the decision was taken after Rajput’s father discussed the case with state police chief Gupteshwar Pandey. “The DGP spoke to Sushant Singh Rajput’s father this morning and he gave consent for CBI inquiry. So now, we are recommending CBI probe in the matter,” Kumar said on Tuesday.
