The official poster of Srijit Mukherji’s much awaited magnum opus Ek Je Chhilo Raja has released and has generated a lot of intrigue among audiences.
The poster reveals an old palace room which is in a state of ruins and has an elaborate picture hanging on the wall. The picture is of the Bhawal Raja, played by Jisshu U Sengupta. The Feudal Prince is seen decked up in his hunting attire, standing on the dead remains of a tiger which seems to be the trophy animal that he has hunted down. Right beneath the ornate picture sits a man who by his unusual apparel and dreadlocks seems to be a sanyasi, also played by Sengupta. His entire body is smeared with ashes and covered in marks.
Apart from Sengupta, the looks of some of the prominent members of the cast, such as those of Jaya Ahsan, Rajnandini Paul, Sreenanda Shankar, Anirban Bhattacharya and Rudranil Ghosh have also been revealed.
Ek Je Chhilo Raja is the story of Mahendra Kumar Chowdhury, the middle prince of the Bhawal Estate, who was affected by syphilis and was taken to Darjeeling for treatment along with his wife, Chandrabati Devi, brother in law, Satya and a family doctor, Ashwini. He apparently died in Darjeeling and was cremated there. After 12 years, a sanyasi comes back to the estate where people start noticing him and a rumour spreads that he is the lost prince of Bikrampur estate.
Produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, it is slated for a release during Durga Puja on October 12, 2018.
