The first week of June better for Hollywood than Bollywood

Among the Hindi as well as Hollywood releases this year, we have taken top four films that ran in cinema halls last week. Hollywood once again overpowered Hindi films in the beginning of June. If you take a look at the tables below, the four highest Hindi grosses of last week churned out Rs 18.29 crore in seven days while the top highest Hollywood grossers of last week collected Rs 34.88 crore; approximately 91 per cent higher than that of numbers clocked by Hindi films!

The highest Hindi grosser of past week was the Ajay Devgn-starrer De De Pyaar De that collected Rs 10.84 crore in the third week. On the other hand, the highest Hollywood grosser in the past week was Godzilla: King Of The Monsters, a sequel to the 2014 release Godzilla, that collected Rs 19.28 crore in its week one. Among Hindi films there was no release in the last week so the films that were running in the theatres were two, three and even four weeks old.

Incidentally, De De Pyaar De in its first week earned Rs 61.05 crores at the box office, which is almost 75 per cent higher than the week one earnings of Godzilla's recent installment.
