Many of the problems of society reflect themselves in cinema; in the same way through cinema many questions which trouble the common man are also shown. There are numerous burning questions in our society. There are many wrong incidents taking place around us. Attempts are made to provide justice within the framework of the law, at the same time we cannot deny the bitter truth of the delay in justice. With the delay in justice and the ensuing dilemma as the central theme, director Mahesh Manjrekar has woven the story of the movie ‘Me Shivaji Park’.
With the tagline ‘the law is blind….but we can see’, ‘Me Shivaji Park’, is the story of the reaction of five senior citizens who have been victims of the system. To get justice in an incident, these five gentlemen from different backgrounds, come together to fight the case according to their individual ability. Dilip Prabhavalkar plays the role of a retired professor. Vikram Gokhale is a retired judge and Shivaji Satam plays the role of a Parsi gentleman. Satish Alekar plays the role of a retired bank officer and Ashok Saraf plays the role of a retired police inspector
Along with veterans Vikram Gokhale, Satish Alekar, Ashok Saraf, Shivaji Satam, and Dilip Prabhavalkar we also have Uday Tikekar, Sharad Ponkshe, Suhas Joshi, Bharathi Acharekar, Savita Malpekar, Santosh Juvekar, Sushant Shelar, Dipti Lele, Manjiri Phadnis, and Dipti Dhotre.
There are two songs which complement the story of the movie. Lyricist Vaibhav Joshi and Shrirang Godbole have written these songs and they have been set to music by music director Ajit Parab. The story, screenplay and direction are by Mahesh Manjrekar. The dialogues are written by Abhiram Bhadkamkar and editing is by Karan Rawat. The producers are Dilipdada Sahebrao Yadav and Siddarth Kevalchand Jain. Mangesh Ramchandra Jagtap, Shankar Rameshwar Mitkari, Bharat Chaganlal Rathod, and Milind Sitaram Vaste are the co-producers.
