Remakes of old songs are making their way into big Bollywood films. Joining in this trend is the latest song from Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. The film brings to us the hit song Mera naam hai chin chin chu picturised on Helen from the film Howrah Bridge. The rehashed version Chin chin chu takes us back in time to the black and white era. What makes this version interesting is that it has been adapted to fit with the storyline of this sequel.
The first few seconds of the music video are picturised in black and white. Set in sort of a mafia den in China Town, the video shows Sonakshi Sinha, who is propably running away from someone. She crashes the party thus upseting the host. Depicted as a funny scenario, the lead characters later on sing the Chin chin chu song replacing a few words with Punjabi lyrics to make it look like a party in the nick of time.
What makes this song more special is that the actress has lent her voice to the number and she does a good job. She is joined by Jassie Gill in the vocals. The music is composed by Sohail Sen and the lyrics are by Mudassar Aziz. Check the music video below and let us know in the comments section below what you think of Sonakshi's singing.
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi will hit the theatres on August 24. The film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal, Jassie Gill and Piyush Mishra.
Meanwhile stay tuned to Box Office India for more updates from the world of Bollywood.
