Lalit Prabhakar was much appreciated for his work in the recently released Smile Please. In an exclusive interview with Box Office India, he spoke about how he connected with the director of the film."No two directors are alike. Here it helped because you are involved in the process in a different capacity. I feel that you should look at your film as an entire project instead of looking at just what your part is. As an actor I believe that you have to surrender, but I cannot blindly follow instructions. That is important for me because that is the only way that I can deliver," he said.
And he has followed the same with his next film Medium Spicy which is directed by Mohit Takalkar. For this film he went an extra mile and stayed with Mohit at his home in Pune. Talking to a daily about this, he said, “ I stayed at Mohit’s house for a month and he was an extremely good host, besides being a very considerate director. Whenever he was free from his other pre-production work, he’d sit with me to discuss the subtext and underlying meaning of each scene of the film.”
“We connected on a whole new level thanks to food. It was a great way for me to unwind and unlearn to play this new character," he added.
