The winds of change are blowing, bringing good tidings from the central government. At the recently concluded FICCI Frames event, Information & Broadcasting Minister Smriti Zubin Irani announced that the ministry is planning to constitute a special group of film industry professionals that will help it achieve its goal of consolidating film government bodies like NFDC, CFSI, DFF etc. Irani said the special group would offer recommendations and guidance to the ministry on creating a new, unified, overarching body for the filmed entertainment industry. Many view this bold move as a welcome change as it would mean Indian cinema can finally present a united face, which would also promote the ease of doing business. Bravo!
