At a press conference filmmaker, Nikkhil Advani spoke about his next film with John Abraham. He said that he was honoured that actor-producer John Abraham had chosen him to helm 1911, their next project which will tell the story of an iconic event in India's sports history.
"I am committed to do 1911 right now. It is true to story. It is a script that John’s production house was working on in since 5 years. It was a match that ignited the freedom movement. Shoojit was going to direct it but didn’t work out. We will go on floors end if next year. I like to take my time," he said.
John Abraham has joined hands with Advani's Emmay Entertainment and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series for this project.
It has been reported that the film is the story of late Indian footballer Sibdas Bhaduri, who captained Mohun Bagan in the historic 1911 IFA Shield final, in which they defeated the East Yorkshire Regiment to become the first Asian team to win the competition.
John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani recently worked together in Batla House which hit screens on August 15.
