Kabir Singh emerges as Shahid Kapoor’s highest opener, breaks record of Padmaavat

Telugu film Arjun Reddy's Hindi remake, Kabir Singh, had a bumper opening yesterday with Rs 20.21 crore. The film has broken the opening record of Padmaavat (which earned Rs 17.82 crore) thereby emerging as the highest opener among all films of Shahid Kapoor. The film's numbers are 13.41 per cent higher than that of Padmaavat.

Kapoor's last few solo-hero films did not enjoy much box office performance but Kabir Singh has the full potential to become a game changer for the actor. Majority of the audience gave positive reviews for the film and also praised Shahid's performance. This is again another example of good content that has the potential of becoming a box office success through positive word-of-mouth!
