The mega starrer film Kalank is all set to release on April 17. The film is a period drama set in the 1940s.
Box Office India had the opportunity to talk to some of the stars of the film.
Sonakshi Sinha talking to us spoke about her character Satya and what it meant being part of this film. According to her, “Satya is a strong woman resonated with me. She has strong family values and that helped me relate to her.”
The film is a multi-starrer and such films have their share of challenges. Sharing her experience about the same Sonakshi said, "When you have such fine actors, to feed off one another’s energies always helps you perform better. It was such a great experience shooting for this film. I really enjoyed doing my scenes with Alia (Bhatt), Adi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and Sanju baba (Sanjay Dutt). It was such a wonderful experience that it is difficult to put in words.
Also Sonakshi Sinha talked about how she selects her roles for films. She said, “One of the most important things is that it has to be important to the narrative. It just has to propel the story forward. After I did films like Akira, Noor and Force 2, I have not wanted to do anything that is less than that. I want to do roles that really challenge me, roles that push me in certain ways. And that is what I am doing."
Kalank is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The movie stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt and will hit screens on April 17.
