Kriti Kharbanda made her cinematic debut in Kannada. She went on to do substantial work in South Indian films before making her Bollywood debut in 2016 with Raaz: Reboot.
During a chat show when Kharbanda was asked why hadn't she done many Kannada movies after her debut in Bollywood. To which she said, “I wasn't aiming for Bollywood. I was clear that I would work on good offers, which happened with Hindi movies. The reason I am in this field is because of Kannada movies. Googly put me on the map. I got many opportunities from Bollywood even before I made my debut, but I couldn't take them up because I was busy shooting for movies in the South."
She also expressed her desire to work in more Kannada movies, "But the dates aren't working out. I am hoping it will work out in the future; my first love has always been Kannada cinema. For now, I have signed a bilingual (Tamil and Malayalam) movie with Dulquer Salmaan.”
Currently, the actress is busy with the Hindi movies Housefull 4, Pagalpanti, Chehre and the bilingual film with Dulquer Salmaan.
