Jon Favreau's The Lion King has been experiencing a strong and steady run at the Indian box office even in its second week. The film minted Rs 3.17 crore on its second Monday, making the total business of the film Rs 108.74 crore. The second highest Hollywood grosser of the year entered the 100-crore club post its second weekend and has now also become the fourth highest all-time Hollywood grosser. The Lion King surpassed the lifetime numbers of 2015 release Furious 7, which garnered Rs 104 crore in its lifetime in India.
The Lion King, remake of the 1994 classic animated film, is enjoying this remarkable run at the box office due to strong word-of-mouth among the audience. The top three all-time Hollywood grossers are Avengers: Endgame with Rs 365 crore, Avengers: Infinity War with Rs 223 crore and The Jungle Book with Rs 183 crore at the Indian box office.
