Malayalam film director and scriptwriter KR Sachidanandan died at a private hospital in Thrissur. He was 48. As per the reports, on Tuesday, the director was admitted to the Jubilee Mission hospital after he suffered a heart attack and was on ventilator support. He died on Thursday night.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to social media and mourn the demise of the filmmaker and said his death was a loss for the Malayalam movie industry. "Sachy was a noted Malayalam movie director and screenplay writer. He was behind many hit movies in Malayalam. With the untimely death of Sachy, Malayalam movie industry lost a talented artist."
In an emotional note, Bollywood actor John Abraham shared on Twitter, "Shattered to lose such a talent. Rest In Peace my friend. #RIP #Sachy”
KR Sachidanandan's last film Ayyappanum Koshiyum released before the Coronavirus outbreak in the country and has left everyone stunned and was a hit.
KR Sachidanandan's cremation will be held at Ravipuram in Kochi on Friday afternoon, the sources said.
