Malayalam films ready for release as Kerala recovers from the flood disaster

Onam is the time for some of the biggest releases in Kerala. But this year due to the devastating floods, no movies released in the theatres. But as the state slowly limps back to normalcy, we have an updated list for the films that will hit the screens from September. While some films have found new dates, films which were earlier scheduled on those dates have been pushed to a later date.

September 7, will see the first set of new releases. Prithiviraj's Ranam and Tovino Thomas' Theevandi will battle it out at the box office on this date.

The following week, on September 13, which is also Vinayaga Chaturthi, Mammootty and Biju Menon will clash with their films Oru Kuttandan Blog and Padayottam respectively.

Fahaadh Fasil will have a solo release on September 20 with the Amal Neerad directorial Varathan.

Nivin Pauly will celebrate his birthday in style with the release of Kayamkulam Kochunni which hits screens on Ocotber 11. This date was earlier reserved for the Mohanlal starrer Odiyan, but now the film will be pushed to a later date. But fans of Lalettan will not be disappointed because the actor has a very special and important role in Kayamkulam Kochunni.
