Mammootty has already enthralled his Malayalam fans with his recent release Abrahamnite Santhathigal. The National Award winning actor is all set to please his Tamil and Telugu fans. He has two absolutely different films waiting to hit the theatres, teasers of which have been recently released.
First there is the Ram directorial Peranbu. The film, which had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam earlier this year, is a story of self-discovery. The story is about a father who finds himself through his experiences with his daughter and wife. The film also stars Anjali, Samuthirakani and Baby Sadhana in pivotal roles. Music of the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The audio will be released on July 15, 2018.
Another teaser that has created waves is Yatra. This Telugu film is based on the life of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and focusses on the late politician’s famous padayatra across the state. In 2003 he ventured on foot across several districts in Andhra Pradesh as a part of his election campaign. It was a three month long endeavour. Yatra marks Mammootty’s return to Telugu cinema after nearly two decades. Written and directed by Mahi V Raghav, the film features Rao Ramesh, Anasuya, Posani Krishna Murali, Vinod Kumar and Sachin Khedekar in supporting roles. The film is expected to hit screens for Sankaranti 2019.
