The magnum opus Mamangam, with Mammootty in the lead, is one of the most expensive films being made in the Malayalam film industry. After the first look, the makers have already made fans curious forthe film release. And its looks like it’s very close to the release date.
From what we have heard the film is all set to hit the screens on October, 21. There is no official confirmation on this, but there had been reports that that the film has been planned to hit screens in the second half of October given that it will be just in time before Diwali.
Mamangam was a religious festival which was held once in 12 years at Thirunavaya, on the banks of Bharatapuzha in Kerala. For 280 years fierce battles were waged by a few men against a mighty king during Mamangam. The film will showcase a story of one great real hero and one glorious unknown hero. This movie is one of the biggest and one of the most expensive movies made in Malayalam cinema and is set in 1695.
Mamangam is directed by M. Padmakumar and is produced by Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films. Along with Mammootty, the movie also stars Achutan, Sudev Nair, Sidhique, Unnimukundan, Sureshkrishna and Manikkuttan.
Mamangam will release in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
