MIAMI, USA
The first edition of the Miami International Film Festival opened on February 3, 1984, and was founded by the non-profit Film Society of Miami Inc. It aims to celebrate thought-provoking international cinema for film lovers. It screens feature films, documentaries, short films, retrospectives, socially-relevant films, multi-disciplinary and experimental films. The festival provides a platform to both established and up-and-coming filmmakers, and international music artistes.
The 36th edition of the festival will screen films across multiple genres from more than 40 countries. A new program called Knight Heroes has been launched to support and honour a new generation of creators from South Florida.
