After hitting the Rs 100-crore mark over the first weekend, Sanju continued to open to strong occupancy across the country even on Monday, a non-holiday. Programmers from major movie theatre chains talk to us about the film’s healthy run and their expectations from today.
Amar Laykar, Programmer, PVR
After humongous collections across the weekend, occupancy has dipped in today’s morning shows. Occupancy was around 45 per cent. Being a Monday, I assume the collections from PVR properties to be Rs 1.75 crore. Pan-India, the collections of Sanju is likely to be Rs 20 crore, which is great.
Rajender Jyala, Programmer, INOX
Being a weekday, Sanju is likely to garner Rs 1.25 crore from INOX properties today. Occupancy has definitely dropped a little and was around 42 to 45 per cent this morning. The percentage will most probably remain the same for the other shows too. Pan-India, the film might gross Rs 19-20 crore today.
Kaushal Srivastav, Programmer, Cinepolis
Occupancy for the morning shows was about 40 per cent, which is great considering it is a Monday. After earning big at the box office over the weekend, the film will earn around Rs 75 lakh today. That is what advance booking is telling us. Pan-India, I am expecting Sanju to earn Rs 18 crore today.
Yogesh Raizada, Programmer, Wave
The morning shows at our chain were 38-40 per cent full. Athough occupancy fell by 50 per cent when compared to Friday, the film will hold its own. Advance bookings are still taking place. Collections will definitely dip today but we are very positive about its first weekday numbers.
Rahul Kadbet, Programmer, Carnival
Today’s collections are very vital since the first week has just started. I think the film will earn Rs 68 lakh from our chain today. The morning shows were 40-42 per cent full. Across the country, the film is likely to earn about Rs 20 crore, which is great. I am positive about that. Word-of-mouth is very strong, after all.
Amit Sharma, Programmer, Miraj
To my surprise, occupancy for the morning shows at Miraj properties looks great. The screens ran almost 35 per cent full. The numbers look great even at my Hyderabad and Southern properties. I am expecting stable numbers today. People are gushing about the film and the positive word-of-mouth is spreading very quickly.
Neeraj Ahuja, Programmer, Wide Angle
The morning shows of Sanju witnessed 28-30 per cent occupancy. Since the reviews of the film are good, I am expecting good numbers even today. I am expecting the film to garner about Rs 17-18 crore today.
