The paisa vasool, masala entertainer, Satyameva Jayate, starring John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee and debutante Aisha Sharma, is about to be unleashed tomorrow, on Independence Day. Thanks to a dumdaar trailer and catchy songs, the buzz around the film is strong, and when we spoke to exhibitors from various cinema chains, they agreed with us. Here’s what they have to say about advance booking of Satyameva Jayate
Rajender Jyala, INOX
We opened advance booking on Saturday and it looks amazing for Satyameva Jayate. The buzz surrounding the film is also very positive. We have high expectations from this film. Despite the clash with GOLD, Satyameva Jayate will hold its own and is likely to open to great numbers. It looks like an out-and-out masala, commercial film. Films like these never go out of fashion. John Abraham’s presence will help the film further.
Prasad Toraskar, PVR
The advanced booking opened for one screen on Friday, and in just one day, we sold 27,000 tickets for Satyameva Jayate, which is a very good number. The buzz for the film is very positive and the movie is already generating a lot of interest and intrigue among the audience. Since August 15 is a holiday, a large number of people will turn up to watch the film. Satyameva Jayate is a full-on entertainer. It is very likely that the film will meet our expectations.
Meenu Singh, SRS
We have most of our theatres in B-class cities, in parts of North India and Punjab, where Punjabi films run predominantly. Since Satyameva Jayate is a mass-oriented film, I am expecting it to perform very well in our properties there. The advance booking started in Jharkhand last night. As per the reports, the advance booking looks good.
Hiren Patel, Wide Angle Cinemas
Advance booking for Satyameva Jayate opened today. Since August 15 is a mid-week holiday, the buzz around the film is positive. The audience seems excited about this film since it is a commercial, massy film. John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee are a great combination. The clash with GOLD will not affect the opening of this film, because both movies have completely different flavours.
Yogesh Raizada, Wave
The buzz for Satyameva Jayate is decent. Once full-fledged advance booking starts, ticket sales will increase. It is the kind of film that everyone would want to watch. After a long time, we will get to see a full-blown commercial film. Our country loves massy films. My expectations are high. The songs and the trailer have already generated a strong buzz.
Kaushal Srivastav, Cinepolis
Satyameva Jayate’s advance booking is decent and it will pick up eventually. I am very positive about that. Everyone loves commercial entertainers with action-packed sequences, powerful dialogue and amazing songs. It looks like a paisa vasool film.
Nitin Tambat, Carnival
Our properties in Tier II cities are seeing a very positive buzz as well as good advance booking for Satyameva Jayate. Looking at the advance booking, the film is likely to open very well tomorrow. Since it is a public holiday, that will up the film’s collections.
